Carmen M.'s Story
Hi,
My name is Carmen Diaz, I was born in Catano, Puerto Rico. At 9 months of age my parents moved to West Side in Manhattan. We then moved to 118th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue. I attended Public School 78 ( located at 119th Street/Pleasant Avenue and would like to find some of my elementary school classmates. I also attended JHS 45 located at 120th Street & First Avenue. After graduation, I attended Central Commercial High in NYC NY for a short time, then transferred to Benjamin Franklin High and graduated with Class of 1970. I was married for 13 years, then got divorced. I have 3 children. I lived in NYC until 1986, then relocated to Norfolk, Virginia. I also lived in Florida for 1 year. I presently live in Indianapolis Indiana, I have 3 grandsons. My fave hobby is photography and I love to write poems. I love salsa music, rhythm and blues, as well as motown music....those were the good old days lol. I love to travel....whenever I get a chance.

I just recently became a member of Classmates.com and hope I can reconnect with my old classmates from Public Schoo 78, JHS 45, Central Commercial HIgh, and Ben Franklin High. I hope to make new friends via Classmates.com.
When I graduated in 1970, I went to a training school affliated with the NYS Civil Service Department, which landed me a job as a stenographer for the NYS Vocational Rehabilitation Department. I used to work at the 2 World Trade Center from 1973 until 1979, when I left and found a job working for New York Infirmary Hospital. When I lived in Virginia, I worked for the Health Department, and then worked with the Public School System as a secretary. Now, I work for a retail chain here in Indianapolis.
Well, peace to all my Franklin classmates as well as those from Central Commercial classmates...
Carmen
I always wanted to be a Nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a awesome idea. As it turns out, they were right.
